Setup an Elite Torrent Proxy for Anonymous uTorrent Downloads

One of the questions I get asked the most by people that email me about how to setup an elite proxy server for them, has to do with using these elite proxies to block their ip address from the ISP and thus be able to download torrent files anonymously.

Many ISPs (internet service providers) have begun doing what is known as torrent throttling. Basically it just means that they slow down your internet connection when they detect that you are downloading torrents (software, movies, videos, music, mp3s and such). With a normal internet connection this is very easy for them to do and this appears to be trending higher with more and more internet providers doing it all the time. Some ISPs have even started blocking torrent downloads all together. In this case we would call it an elite utorrent proxy server even though it’s actually the same proxy setup that anyone else would use.

As you can probably imagine; this is quite a annoying situation for people using torrent clients such as utorrent, bittorrent, et cetera.

On this site I tend to focus on the elite proxy uses that I personally use and this issue is of particular interest to me because this is one of the main things I do with my own personal proxies. What I mean by that is that you don’t need to set up separate private proxies for each use. The same ip address can be used interchangeably and can even be used at the same time. You can be downloading torrents and surfing the web at the same time through the same proxy server at the same time. In fact, I do this myself pretty much every day.
