uTorrent Proxy Server — Set Up an Undetectable uTorrent Proxy to Bypass ISP & Share Anonymously (peer to peer)

A high anonymous elite proxy server is the ideal uTorrent proxy (mostly because it’s private, but also because it’s undetectable).

If you use the utorrent bittorrent client, and you want your torrent downloading (and seeding) activities to be private and hidden then you’ll need to learn about setting up a utorrent proxy server (aka, torrent proxy or bittorrent proxy).

Obviously the best type of proxy server there is, is an elite proxy server (because it’s the only type of proxy server that’s undetectable) so that’s what we use for setting up a utorrent proxy server.

A torrent proxy server is needed for hiding your downloading activities because you need the downloads (and more importantly; the uploads) to be made from an ip address other than your own real ip address.

What you do is download (and upload) through the proxy server, instead of downloading (and uploading) directly with your own ip address.

After you’ve set up your proxy server on a remote hosted VPS server using my 10-minute tutorial, you take the ip address that comes by default with the remote vps, and paste it into utorrent’s connection settings section:

Options >>> Preferences >>> Connection (see screen-shot below).

Also type in the port number of the utorrent proxy server, the username, and the password you established while setting up the proxy (all of which is shown step by step in the tutorial).

By changing those connection settings in the utorrent client, you have effectively bypassed your ISP and any snooping, tracking, recording, monitoring, or blocking they can do (because they can no longer see what you’re doing or what you’re downloading, because the proxy server is actually downloading the torrents for you). If you search for torrents directly in the utorrent interface, then your searches will also be covered, but if you use your browser for the torrent searches, then I would also suggest changing the connection settings in your browser too [Firefox Connection Settings Screen Shot] (so that your web browser also connects through your utorrent proxy server).

Why Should I Set Up a uTorrent Proxy Server?

The first reason is almost always to hide your torrent downloading from your ISP, but another big reason is bandwidth speeds. If you use a shared public proxy for downloading, obviously it’s going to be a heck of a lot slower than if you’re the only person downloading torrents through the proxy server. So if you set up your own, then you’re the only one with access to it, and thus, the only person downloading through it, and thus, it’s not slow like a shared proxy server.

Plus, when you learn how to set up a proxy server for yourself, you don’t have to keep trying to find new proxies to use, because no one is abusing the ip address of your personal utorrent proxy, and thus, it will last pretty much forever. You don’t have to change the connection settings in the utorrent client all the time because your private proxy’s ip address can be used basically forever. In fact if you learn how to set it up yourself, you could even setup multiple utorrent proxies if you like. Or even put multiple ip addresses on the same proxy. That’s as easy as ordering a few extra ip addresses from the vps hosting company that you’ve set your proxy up on, and then following the quick instructions (in my tutorial) for adding the extra ip’s to the proxy’s config file.

How Do I Configure uTorrent to Use My Proxy?

The screen shot below shows the exact settings for configuring utorrent to connect through your proxy server instead of through the ip address assigned by your intenet provider. When you sign up for the virtual private server (vps) that you’re going to setup your elite (torrent) proxy on, the vps hosting company will email you the ip address of that particular vps. Then when you’re setting up the proxy, you’ll use that ip address in the proxy’s configuration file (explained in the tut) and assign it your own username and password. Those will be the username and password you plug into utorrent’s proxy server settings. You can see in the screen shot below: In the “proxy” field, you put your new proxy’s ip address and port 3128. In the “username” field where it says “account1″, that’s your personal proxy username that you assign it while setting up the proxy, and in the “password” field you put in the password you assigned to that username while setting up your proxy server.

How Long Will it Take to Set Up My uTorrent Proxy?

The actual set up literally takes less than 10 minutes. All you have to do is type 5 short command lines into an SSH client, and type your vps’s ip address into the squid.conf file (the proxy’s configuration file). I’ve already pre-configured everything else. So when you type in those command lines, they’ll activate my elite proxy scripts, which will, in turn, download, install, and configure the proxy for you onto your vps. Before you can do the actual setup though, you need to get the server (the vps server) and typically vps companies will send you the login details for your vps within a few minutes. Some hosting companies take longer than others, but I’ve never had a hosting company take longer than a few hours to send me the vps login details, and like I said, usually it’s only a few minutes (even the companies that say it might take up to 24hrs usually send it a lot sooner than that). So once you actually get the login details for the vps, the process of turning that vps into an elite utorrent proxy (ie, the actual proxy setup time is about 10 minutes depending on how fast you type or paste). — You Are Here: Setting Up a uTorrent Proxy Server

OPTION #1:

Standard Version

Use this option to set up as many elite proxy servers as you want to for the rest of your life. It will never become outdated because the script automatically updates itself every time you use it.

  $14.99

OPTION #2:

Advanced Version

Same as option #1 above but also includes instructions for putting multiple ip addresses on the same proxy server. Don't bother with this option if you only need 1 new ip address (most users) but if you want to put lots of different ip addresses all on the same proxy then this is the option for you.
