Look Up My IP Address & Then Hide It

Can you show me how to lookup my ip address and then hide my ip address? Yes, I definitely can. Your IP Address is right up there in the top right corner of every page on this site. Pretty much every website, blog, search engine, etc, on the internet runs a special script that can read your ip directly from your web browser (your web browser carries it around to every website you visit and broadcasts it, and it also broadcasts where you live). To lookup the address, just go to a site that will show it to you (like you’re doing right now here on my site). Every page on my site shows you your ip right up there in the top right corner. Let’s now move on to the real reason you’re here.

It’s a good guess, that Anyone Wanting to “LookUp My IP Address”, wants to Hide it

. And if my (educated) guess is correct, then you’ve come to the perfect place for that … because that’s ALL we do here … we hide ip’s (and thus, also, where you live, ie, we hide the geographic location of your computer connection). It’s really not a difficult process. All you have to do is rent a very cheap remote server with it’s own private IP, and then surf the internet using the private ip, instead of your actual ip (the one your ISP gave you). Don’t worry, it’s not expensive in the least, less than $10 bucks/month to rent the remote server.

There are a multitude of very good reasons to hide your ip, probably as many as there are people wanting to do it. But generally it always boils down to online privacy and anonymity (ie, you don’t want anyone snooping around in your business, tracking & recording everything you do on the internet). Don’t worry, you’re definitely NOT alone; there are literally millions upon millions of people all over the world (myself definitely included) that have the very same goal. We all accomplish it the same way (in fact, the same way hackers do it).

I personally, happen to have the unique distiction of being both a programmer, and a libertarian. If you don’t know much about libertarians; our main goal is to keep people out of our business. If you don’t know much about pragrammers, our main goal is to stay a few steps ahead of everyone else. So when it comes to online privacy, it’s a perfect match. We stay a few steps ahead of the people trying to stick their noses in our business (ie, trying to identify, track and record our internet activity). And obviously hackers would definitely fall into that category. What they do, is chain together a bunch of remote servers (elite proxy servers that is, you may have noticed the name of my site here) that each have their own private ip and geo-location, and then we connect to each of them individually in sequence before we finally connect to our actual destination. That all may sound like a lot of work, but in reality, once it’s set up the first time, it’s all perfectly seamless, and happens invisibly in the background of our web browsers. We surf the internet just like everyone else does, but the activities happening in the background of our browsers keep us completely undetected and anonymous.

After I Lookup MY IP Address, Will I Need a Chain of Elite Proxies to Hide it?

No, the average family, doesn’t need to have such an elaborate “chain” of elite proxies to stay anonymous and private online. Just one private IP is enough to hide your ip and where you live. For example, if you live in NY, and your remote proxy server is in Chicago, then your private ip will be a Chicago IP address, and your computer will show as being connected in Chicago (instead of where you really are, in NY). I talked about our use of “chained” elite proxies, simply as a way for you to more easily visualize how easy it is for hackers and such to hide their tracks so easily. In fact, they very likely don’t need to have a chain either, but to give you an example of their frame of mind; take your desire to be anonymous and private online, and then multiply that by 20 or 30, and you can undertand why they set up proxy server chains.

One of the really cool things about an elite proxy is that it’s bullet-proof both electronically, and legally. It’s impossible for anyone to follow you back through your proxy, but even trying to is illegal (and for the most part, the sites you’re visiting aren’t going to break the law so blatantly). Search engines and facebook, and myspace and craigslist and twitter as examples are absolutely NOT going to make any attempts to break the law so blatently by trying to hack into your proxy. In fact there wouldn’t be much incentive for them to anyway, because there are more than enough people for them to track out there, running around the internet naked (ie, connecting to websites and search engines directly, rather than using an elite proxy server). For the record, and clarification; “hackers” are not malicious law-breakers. The term for a malicious hacker is a “cracker”. Somehow the term “hacker” became synonymous with “cracker” like “Kleenex” & “tissue”, but the vast majority of hackers are NOT crackers, and are not being malicious nor breaking laws. — You Are Here: LookUp My IP Address & Then Hide IT
